Hi, I’m Sarah. I am a (Performance Psychologist (BSc (Hons), MSc, MBPsS.), Outdoor Guide and Certified Wim Hof Method® Instructor.

I set up Big Sky Adventures and design retreats because I’m hugely passionate about the role nature and adventure can play in our wellbeing. I notice I thrive in natural environments myself - be it hiking, camping, climbing or wild swimming and know my guests do too!

The change of environment on a retreat will provide you with a refreshing break from the familiar and sometimes stressful surroundings of daily life.

Along with hikes on the mountains surrounding our accommodation, and wild swimming / dipping in lakes, waterfalls, lochs and reviers you’ll also have the opportunity to attend powerful breath work and mindset sessions to give you space and time to think about your life and help you gain more control over your thoughts and emotions.

Take time to reset, re-connect with yourself, nourish your body with hearty food and drinks, and leave feeling like you can conquer the world!

Recharge your mind, body and soul.

Welcome!

For me, getting outside in nature is one of those key tools. I always feel better when I’m on an adventure! Whether it’s hiking in mountains of Wales, camping high in the French Alps or swimming in the sea in Cornwall. Alongside powerful psychology techniques, getting out into the wilderness has become a big part of my life - so much so I am currently training to be a Mountain Leader.

I design these retreats to get you fully immersed into the wilds of your surroundings. This change of environment provides you with a refreshing break from the familiar and sometimes stressful surroundings of daily life.

Along with hikes on the mountains or hills and wild swims in sheltered coves, waterfalls, rivers and lochs, you’ll also have the opportunity to attend powerful breath work and mindset sessions to give you space and time to think about your life and help you gain more control over your thoughts and emotions.

Having experienced burnout first-hand, over five years, I’ve developed a comprehensive toolkit of techniques and  strategies I use to manage mental and physical health.

I’m 39 and live near Brighton with my boyfriend and my dog 🐶 who looks exactly like that emoji! 🙃

I studied Psychology at university and after a gap year of travel and work, I followed it up with a MSc in Sport & Performance Psychology in London.

Having spent 10 years working in elite sport as a psychologist, in 2022, I completed my training and qualified as a Wim Hof Instructor.

In 2023, I trained as a Mountain Leader.

I’m tall (nearly 5’10”), an extroverted-introvert (if you know, you know 😏) and a reformed ‘yes’ person.

My coffee order is an Americano with hot milk (decaf mind).

Over the past few years, I have been through pretty big challenges with my mental health and have grown hugely through those experiences.

Fun facts about me...

Running my own business means I find it hard to find balance, switch off and be in the moment. I always hugely value the opportunity to take time out to rest and recalibrate.

I know this is needed by so many others, and sharing a space where we can reconnect and recharge is so important to me.

"the best adventures often begin with a single step outside of the comfort zone..."
